Key Warranty Highlights

JDM State Motors of NC LLC sells used JDM (Japanese Domestic Market) automotive parts and components imported directly from Japan. We stand behind the quality and accuracy of our listings with a 90-day limited warranty against genuine part defects and material failures — clearly defined so you know exactly what is covered and what is not before you purchase.

Warranty Period

90 calendar days from the confirmed delivery date of your order. Warranty claims submitted after this window will not be accepted.

What Is Covered

Genuine material defects and mechanical failure that render the part non-functional, provided it has not been installed or altered and the failure is not attributable to customer handling or misuse.

Warranty Remedy

At our discretion: a full refund to your original payment method, a replacement part of equal or comparable value if available, or a partial refund reflecting the defect.

Claim Response Time

We respond to all warranty claim submissions within 1–3 business days. Approved remedies are processed within 5–10 business days of claim approval.

Important: This Is a Limited Warranty on Used Automotive Parts

JDM State Motors of NC LLC sells pre-owned automotive parts and components imported from Japan. This warranty is a limited written warranty as defined under the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act (15 U.S.C. § 2301 et seq.). It is not a guarantee that every used part will perform flawlessly in every installation scenario. It is a clear commitment that if a part we sold you contains a genuine material defect or fails due to an issue that existed at the time of sale — and you have not yet installed it — we will make it right.

Normal wear and tear on a used part is not a defect. Surface oxidation, minor mechanical wear, residual grease or oil, and cosmetic marks that are consistent with a part's age and prior vehicle use are normal and expected — they are not warranty-eligible conditions. Every product listing on our website includes photographs and a written condition description. Buyers are expected to review these carefully before purchasing.

If you have questions about a specific part's condition, compatibility with your vehicle, or whether a concern qualifies under this warranty, contact us at jdmstatemotorsofnc@gmail.com or call +1 (919) 803-0095 before or after your purchase. We are always happy to help.

Section 1

What This Warranty Covers

Subject to the exclusions listed in Section 2, JDM State Motors of NC LLC warrants that each part sold on our website will be free from material defects that render the part non-functional as described in its product listing, for a period of 90 calendar days from the confirmed delivery date.

Covered Under This Warranty

  • A part that is broken, cracked, or structurally failed in a manner not visible in the product listing photos or described in the condition notes
  • Internal mechanical failure or seizure that existed at the time of sale and was not disclosed in the listing
  • Electrical component with a pre-existing open circuit, short circuit, or internal failure not identified in the listing
  • A part that is materially and significantly different from the description in the product listing in a way that affects its usability or function
  • Any other hidden defect that was not visible, not disclosed, and that a reasonable buyer would not have anticipated based on the listing

Not Covered Under This Warranty

  • Normal wear and tear consistent with the part's used/pre-owned condition and age as described in the listing
  • Any part that has been installed on a vehicle — this warranty applies only to uninstalled parts
  • Damage caused by improper storage, customer mishandling, moisture exposure, or impact after delivery
  • Cosmetic imperfections — surface rust, paint fading, minor scuffs, grease residue — that are expected on used parts
  • Parts purchased under the "Final Sale," "As-Is," or "Clearance" designation
  • Incompatibility with the buyer's specific vehicle resulting from the buyer's own failure to verify fitment
  • Claims submitted more than 90 calendar days after the confirmed delivery date

Federal Law Notice: This limited warranty is provided in accordance with the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act (15 U.S.C. § 2301–2312). This warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you may also have other rights that vary from state to state. Nothing in this policy limits or supersedes any rights you have under applicable state or federal law.

Section 2

Warranty Exclusions & Limitations

The following conditions and circumstances are explicitly excluded from this warranty. Each exclusion is disclosed upfront so that buyers can make fully informed purchase decisions. If you are unsure whether an issue qualifies for a warranty claim, contact us before attempting any modification or installation of the part.

Installation Voids the Warranty

Once a part has been installed on any vehicle — even briefly or partially — the warranty is immediately voided. Used automotive parts must be verified by a qualified mechanic prior to installation. Any failure discovered after installation is the customer's responsibility.

Disclosed Condition Issues

Any defect, damage, wear, or cosmetic issue that is described in the product listing text or visible in the product photographs is explicitly disclosed and is not a valid warranty claim. Buyers are responsible for reading listings thoroughly before purchase.

Claims After 90 Days

Warranty claims must be submitted within 90 calendar days of the confirmed delivery date. Claims received after this window are automatically ineligible regardless of the reason. The delivery date is determined by carrier tracking confirmation.

Final Sale & As-Is Parts

Parts listed and sold as "Final Sale," "As-Is," "Clearance," or "Non-Returnable" are sold with no warranty of any kind, expressed or implied, to the fullest extent permitted by law. This designation is prominently stated in the product listing before purchase.

Emissions & Legal Compliance

Buyers are solely responsible for verifying that purchased parts comply with all federal, state, and local emissions and vehicle modification laws prior to purchase and installation. Non-compliance with state regulations does not constitute a warranty-eligible defect.

Improper Handling After Delivery

Damage caused by dropping, improper storage, exposure to weather or moisture, or any other mishandling of the part after it has been delivered to you is not covered. Parts must be stored in appropriate dry, secure conditions.

Buyer Fitment Verification Errors

If you ordered a part that does not fit your vehicle because you selected the wrong year, make, model, trim, or sub-model, this is not a warranty-eligible defect. It is the buyer's responsibility to confirm compatibility prior to purchase. Contact us before ordering if you are unsure.

Consequential or Incidental Damages

To the fullest extent permitted by law, JDM State Motors of NC LLC is not liable for any consequential, incidental, indirect, special, or punitive damages arising from the purchase or use of any part, including labor costs, towing, rental vehicles, or any other secondary expenses.

Note on Implied Warranties: Some states do not allow the exclusion of implied warranties or the limitation of consequential damages. If you are a resident of such a state, some of the above limitations may not apply to you. Your state-specific rights are described in Section 7 of this policy. Nothing in this warranty limits rights granted to you under federal or applicable state law.

Section 3

Warranty Period & Commencement Date

Understanding exactly when your warranty begins and ends prevents confusion and ensures you can act quickly if a legitimate issue arises with your purchase.

Start Date

The 90-day warranty period begins on the date your order is marked as delivered by the shipping carrier — as recorded by the tracking system. This is the date used to calculate when your warranty expires.

End Date

The warranty expires precisely 90 calendar days after the delivery date. For example, if your order was delivered on June 1, 2026, the warranty expires on August 30, 2026. Claims must be received before the expiration date to be considered.

Proof of Delivery

Delivery dates are established using the official carrier tracking number provided to you at the time of shipment via email. If there is a dispute about the delivery date, we rely on the carrier's official delivery confirmation record as the authoritative reference.

Non-Transferable

This warranty is valid only for the original purchaser who placed the order on jdmmotorsnc.com. It is non-transferable and cannot be assigned to any third party. Resale of a part extinguishes all warranty rights for the new recipient.

Section 4

Warranty Remedies — What We Will Do

When a warranty claim is verified and approved, we will provide one of the following remedies at our discretion. We will communicate clearly with you about which remedy applies in your specific case and why.

Full Refund

Primary Remedy

If the warranty claim is approved and the defective part is returned to us in an uninstalled condition, we will issue a full refund of the part's purchase price to your original payment method. Refunds are processed within 5–10 business days of us receiving and verifying the returned part. We will provide a prepaid return shipping label for all approved warranty claims.

Replacement Part

Where Available

If an equivalent replacement part of equal or comparable quality is available in our inventory at the time of your claim, we may offer to ship it to you at no additional cost in lieu of a refund. Because our inventory consists of individual used JDM parts, a replacement is not always available. We will inform you immediately if no replacement is in stock and proceed with a refund.

Partial Refund

Minor Defects Only

In situations where a defect exists but is minor in nature and does not fully prevent the use of the part — and the customer agrees to keep the part — we may offer a partial refund reflecting the reduced value due to the defect. Any partial refund is offered only with your explicit agreement and communicated to you before processing.

Shipping Costs for Approved Warranty Claims: JDM State Motors of NC LLC covers 100% of the return shipping cost for all approved warranty claims by providing a prepaid return label. We also cover the cost of shipping any replacement part to you. These costs are never passed on to the customer for a legitimate, approved warranty claim.

Section 5

How to File a Warranty Claim

To file a warranty claim, follow the steps below in order. Do not ship any item back to us until you have received written authorization from our team. Unauthorized returns cannot be processed and will not be credited.

01

Contact Us

Email jdmstatemotorsofnc@gmail.com or call +1 (919) 803-0095 with your order number and a description of the defect.

02

Provide Photos

Submit clear photographs of the defect from multiple angles, showing the specific issue. Photos of the part in uninstalled condition are required for all warranty claims.

03

Claim Review

Our team will review your claim and photos within 1–3 business days and notify you whether it qualifies for coverage under this warranty policy.

04

Receive Authorization

If approved, you will receive a Warranty Authorization (WA) number and a prepaid return shipping label via email with full packaging and shipping instructions.

05

Ship the Part

Securely package the part using the original packaging if possible, write the WA number on the outside of the package, and ship it using the prepaid label we provide.

06

Remedy Issued

Once received and inspected, your agreed remedy — refund, replacement, or partial refund — is processed within 5–10 business days and confirmed by email.

Important: Do not attempt to install the part while your warranty claim is pending. Installation of the part during the claim review process will void all warranty rights. The part must remain in its uninstalled condition until the claim is fully resolved.

Section 6

Federal Warranty Law Compliance

This warranty is a Limited Warranty as that term is defined under the federal Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act (15 U.S.C. § 2301 et seq.) and its implementing regulations at 16 C.F.R. Parts 701, 702, and 703.

As a limited warranty, this policy does not meet all the conditions of a "full" warranty as defined by the Act. Specifically, it applies only to uninstalled parts, is limited in duration to 90 days, and excludes certain categories of damage and defect as disclosed above. These limitations are lawful under federal warranty law when clearly disclosed to consumers prior to purchase — which is the purpose of this policy page.

You may obtain warranty service by contacting us directly. No fee is charged to initiate a warranty claim review, and we pay all shipping costs for approved claims. If your warranty claim is denied, you will receive a written explanation of the reason for denial.

Key Federal Law Provisions

  • Warranty terms are fully disclosed in writing before purchase
  • No charge is assessed to initiate a warranty claim review
  • All remedy options are clearly stated and honored as described
  • Denials are provided with written explanations upon request
  • Consumer's statutory rights under federal and state law are not waived

Section 7

US State-Specific Warranty Rights

We ship to all 50 US states. Warranty and implied warranty laws vary significantly by state. Our 90-day limited warranty is designed to be consistent with or exceed the minimum protections required in all states where we do business. Below is a state-specific summary of key protections that may apply to your purchase.

California (CA) — Song-Beverly Act

The Song-Beverly Consumer Warranty Act provides broad implied warranty protections for consumer goods sold in California. For used goods sold by a dealer, an implied warranty of merchantability typically applies for at least 30 days. Our 90-day limited warranty exceeds this minimum. Additionally, California Civil Code §1792 preserves implied warranties on used goods unless clearly and conspicuously disclaimed in writing — our As-Is listings fulfill this requirement. CA residents also retain all rights under the CCPA. See our Privacy Policy.

New York (NY) — UCC Article 2

New York's Uniform Commercial Code (UCC) Article 2 governs the sale of goods and provides implied warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose. For used goods sold "As-Is," NY law requires the disclaimer to be made in writing and conspicuously displayed — which we do in all applicable listings. NY buyers retain the right to pursue remedies for material misrepresentation regardless of warranty limitations.

North Carolina (NC) — Home State

JDM State Motors of NC LLC is registered in North Carolina (EIN: 93-4377095) and is subject to the NC Unfair and Deceptive Trade Practices Act (NCGS §75-1.1). This law prohibits deceptive descriptions of goods. NC also adopts UCC Article 2 implied warranty protections. NC consumers may contact the NC Department of Justice Consumer Protection Division at 1-877-5-NO-SCAM if they believe any representation in a product listing was materially false.

Texas (TX) — DTPA Protections

The Texas Deceptive Trade Practices Act (DTPA) protects consumers from false, misleading, or deceptive business practices in connection with any consumer transaction. Texas law does not allow sellers to disclaim implied warranties of merchantability when selling to consumers unless the disclaimer is in writing and conspicuous. Our policy and listing disclosures are designed to meet these standards. TX buyers with concerns may contact the Texas Attorney General's Consumer Protection Division.

Florida (FL) — FDUTPA

The Florida Deceptive and Unfair Trade Practices Act (FDUTPA) protects consumers against unfair methods of competition and deceptive acts or practices in commerce. Florida law provides for actual damages, attorney's fees, and other remedies for violations. Our accurate, photo-verified product listings and transparent policy are designed to fully comply with FDUTPA. FL buyers may contact the Florida Attorney General's Office for additional assistance.

Washington (WA) — CPA

Washington's Consumer Protection Act (RCW 19.86) prohibits unfair or deceptive acts or practices in trade or commerce. Washington also provides enhanced consumer remedies including treble damages for willful violations. Our listings are held to an accuracy standard that is consistent with WA law's broad consumer protections. WA buyers may contact the Washington State Attorney General's Office, Consumer Protection Division.

Massachusetts (MA) — Chapter 93A

Massachusetts General Laws Chapter 93A provides broad consumer protection rights, including the right to demand a written response to complaints and to recover double or triple damages for willful violations. MA does not allow sellers to disclaim implied warranties on consumer goods sold in Massachusetts. This warranty supplements — and does not replace — any implied warranty rights held by MA residents under state law.

Illinois (IL) — Consumer Fraud Act

Illinois' Consumer Fraud and Deceptive Business Practices Act (815 ILCS 505) provides broad protections against unfair or deceptive practices in trade. Illinois also has strong UCC Article 2 protections for goods sold. IL residents may contact the Illinois Attorney General's Consumer Fraud Bureau for assistance. Under IL law, consequential damages may not be disclaimed in consumer transactions when the disclaimer is unconscionable.

Colorado (CO) — Vehicle Emissions

Colorado has additional consumer protections specific to vehicle parts and emissions compliance under Colorado HB21-1110 and related regulations. Buyers in Colorado are strongly advised to verify that any JDM part they intend to install complies with Colorado emissions standards before purchasing. Emissions non-compliance does not constitute a defect under this warranty. CO buyers may contact the Colorado Attorney General's Consumer Protection Section.

Minnesota (MN) & New Jersey (NJ)

Minnesota and New Jersey are among the states that do not allow the complete exclusion of implied warranties in consumer transactions. Residents of these states retain implied warranty of merchantability rights regardless of any limitations in this written warranty. The duration of any such implied warranty is limited to the 90-day period of this written warranty, to the fullest extent permitted by applicable state law.

All Other US States

Regardless of the state you reside in, your purchase is protected by federal law including the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act and FTC regulations governing online commerce. You always have the right to a written copy of warranty terms, a clear remedy process, and protection against material misrepresentation. Contact your state Attorney General's consumer protection office for state-specific guidance.

Credit Card Chargeback Rights (All States)

Regardless of your state, if you paid by credit or debit card, you have chargeback rights under the Fair Credit Billing Act (FCBA) for goods significantly not as described or not received. We strongly encourage direct contact with us first, as we are committed to resolving every legitimate claim quickly and fairly without requiring you to involve your card issuer.

Legal Notice: The state-specific summaries in this section are provided for informational purposes only and do not constitute legal advice. Laws change, and state-specific protections may be broader than summarized here. Nothing in this policy limits rights granted to you under applicable state or federal law. If you have a specific legal concern, consult a qualified attorney or contact your state's consumer protection agency.
